Canon Positions
◥
◤
Canon Position Basics.
Canon spots are just that - canon spots. These characters may start off with a higher rank, or some perks, and may have important jobs, but really they have to work like everyone else. Canon spots are open to every member, new or not, first character or not.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind with canon positions.
i. Stay active!
-We have no strict activity rules here - because we don't need them so far - but we ask canon members stay active. After all, you might be the head of a Family or of a Ranger HQ! Lower-ranking members/characters might ask you important questions about how you run your shop! Not only that, but canon characters can directly impact the site and even be in charge of creating events with their larger group!
ii. Stay friendly!
-Alright, so let's say you run a Ranger HQ. This doesn't mean you can dictate how members control their characters or how the characters do their jobs. Example, Orion Rangers have a high concentration of 'gone bad' Rangers, but that doesn't mean every Ranger is! Or Pleiades, they are famous for liking to relax, but that doesn't mean you won't have a strict Ranger at some point that doesn't understand 'relaxing'. Don't try to control how other characters or members run their shop. You are canon to provide a fun a unique experience to other members! Staff will not be afraid to call you out on being unfair. Remember that.
iii. Understanding you are not above staff.
-So, you have a good idea for a Ranger versus Mafia event you talked over with the members of your Family, right? So you decide to type up the event, post it on a board, and get members involved... don't do that. If you want an event to become real and you think it will be a huge success then ask us! Staff will help you create it within the rules, make it fair to everyone, and here's the best part... offer prizes!! Members can't give prizes, only staff can, so let staff help you make the event and let staff post it! Don't worry, you will be credited for making the event! (Remember that large plots are not events. Events are only when they can involve everyone and offer prizes! Large plots are welcomed and encouraged!)
-On the same note, you can not tell other members what to do or if they are breaking the rules of 'your Family' or 'HQ'. If you want to have a strictly run HQ or Family, then ask staff and then get feedback from the members involved in your sector. Get their OK and maybe we can do something to make it a lot of fun. Alright? Alright.
iv. You cannot dictate which characters enter your group.
-If you are a Head Ranger or a Head Family Member, you can not tell staff which characters can be accepted into your area. You can not tell members they can't be in your area. Doing this is a one way ticket to having your character knocked out of canon-position and made into the lowest of the low. We are an open and accepting site to everyone! Make sure the groups you are"in charge of" are the same.
v. You can be vote out if staff agrees to an official vote.
-Now this isn't as bad as it sounds. If the canon-holder (let's say you) thinks it will be a great plot to get knocked out of "office" and replaced, and have that plot impact the area run and stuff, and worm their way back to the top or whatever, you can do it! In fact, you can do it in a vote! A vote can run in one of two ways: 1. you are just horrible at being a canon-person and everyone under you wants you out (jk, this won't happen, most likely. We love you), or 2. you want your character officially knocked out to add more drama!
What will happen is this: your character will be listed as 'former' canon-person-thing, and the new person will come in. That way, any new members can see who the new leader is and, the best part, get involved in the plots! Fun for everyone! Hooray!
vi. You can leave canon anytime.
-If you made a canon character and just don't want to do it anymore, then no worries! You can stop being canon at any time. Just inform staff via PM and we will remove your name and everything. After all, every group can run smoothly without a canon-leader or second-in-command! They can just be this mystical thing like a flying-unicorn until someone comes along.
vii. If there is an open spot, you can bump your character up to that position.
-Yes! You can! Now, let's say you made a character that is a Ranger and is Rank 3 right now with a Level 2 Stylus and you get bumped up to canon. You will automatically gain all the perks a instantly-created canon-character would get! However, if you do this just for a quick level up and quit right after, you will have all your stats reverted to one and any permanent Pokemon you gained through the rank-up taken away. Same goes for researchers and Mafia.
The Canon Spots & Availability.
These are all the positions listed with their official titles. Spots marked with a name or "reserved" are not available.
The first one listed under their area (like the first on under Rangers) is the head of that HQ, the second one is the second-in-command.
The same for Mafias. The first one is the head of the Family, and the second one is second-in-command.
