Capturing & Bonding
◥
◤
Capturing - Non-Rangers.
Capturing Pokemon is rather easy. All you need to do is weaken it in a thread and then toss a pokeball. The more you rp with the Pokemon, the higher the chance of capturing them. Keep in mind you can only capture six Pokemon to battle with and use to fight other members, however, you can capture unlimited cuddle-buddies as long as you bond with them first.
You can release Pokemon at any time.
Bonding - Rangers.
Rangers use their stylus to bond with Pokemon. Bonding with Pokemon is temporary and once you use them in the field they leave you to go back to their daily lives. Rangers can bond up to six Pokemon at once, not including their small and big partner.
To bond with a Pokemon, a Ranger has to deploy their stylus. Make it clear your character does this so your mod will know that you are attempting to bond. The higher the level your Ranger is, and their stylus, the better chance you have at successfully bonding with a Pokemon. If a Pokemon breaks out of the stylus loop, you might need to recharge your stylus. You can't go too long without charging your stylus. Mods will be sure to tell you when you must recharge your stylus.
Recharging can be done with a field move, or you can recharge your stylus by seeking out a recharge area which Rangers conveniently have located in some areas. You may not find these areas right away, but no worries, mods will try to point you in the right direction if one is near you. If not, then "visit" the HQ in the thread with a quick paragraph, recharge, and then head back to your former spot.
If your stylus reaches zero charge (when mods say there is not enough energy to keep going), all the Pokemon you bonded with in the thread will be released and you will need to restart the mission. be smart about it and feel free to ask your mod if you are about to run out of charge. Mods will be fair about it, and trust me, it takes a lot to lose that much charge, no matter your level.
